Hi, I am Giulia
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Rome, Italy.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Italy wasn't part of the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much larger.
The early months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt tougher than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Created Spry Field Glow
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism content. The missing piece was a genuine, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in Italy.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Practical experience from residing in Italy
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- An official tourism authority resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- Just another generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Italy goes on, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Rome or anywhere in Italy, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Best regards,
Giulia
